Social Login with Google

Overview

Traffic4SEO supports signing in with your Google account, making it easy to get started without creating a separate password. You can also link Google to an existing email/password account at any time.

Supported provider: Google

{info} Social login uses your Google profile email as the unique identifier. If you previously registered with the same email, your accounts will be automatically linked.

How to Sign In with Google (Web)

  1. Visit the login page and click Sign in with Google
  2. Google will open a consent screen — select your account and click Allow
  3. You will be redirected to your Dashboard

If this is your first time signing in with that Google account, a new Traffic4SEO account will be created automatically (see First-Time Registration).

{success} No email verification required. Google has already verified your email, so you skip the verification step.

How to Sign In with Google (Desktop App)

The Traffic4SEO desktop app (Executor) uses a browser bridge flow because the Electron app cannot display a full browser OAuth flow inline.

Steps:

  1. Open the Traffic4SEO desktop app
  2. Click Sign in with Google
  3. Your default browser will open automatically with the Google consent screen
  4. Sign in to your Google account and click Allow
  5. The browser redirects to Traffic4SEO — the desktop app detects this and logs in automatically
  6. You can close the browser tab; the desktop app is now logged in

{info} Already logged in on the browser? If you are already signed into Traffic4SEO in your browser when the Electron app opens the login URL, the bridge completes instantly using your existing session — no Google consent screen is shown again.

{warning} The browser bridge link expires after 10 minutes. If login does not complete within this time, restart the process from the desktop app.

First-Time Registration via Google

When you sign in with Google for the first time:

{warning} No local password by default. Google-only accounts do not have a password. Certain sensitive actions (token transfers, settings changes) require either a local password or Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) to confirm your identity. See Setting a Local Password.

Linking Google to an Existing Account

If you already have a Traffic4SEO account (email + password) and want to add Google as a sign-in method:

  1. Simply sign in with Google using the same email address
  2. Traffic4SEO automatically links the Google account to your existing account based on email match
  3. From now on you can sign in with either your password or Google

{info} The link is permanent and automatic — no manual step required. Your existing data, tokens, and subscriptions are fully preserved.

Setting a Local Password

A local password is required to perform sensitive operations without 2FA (such as token transfers). Google-only accounts can set a password at any time:

  1. Go to Settings → Security → Password
  2. Leave the Current Password field blank (it is hidden for Google-only accounts)
  3. Enter your New Password and confirm it
  4. Click Save

Once set, you can sign in with either your password or Google.

{success} After setting a local password, all features are fully available — no restrictions remain.

Two-Factor Authentication with Social Login

2FA works fully with Google login. When enabled:

  • After the Google OAuth flow, you will be redirected to the 2FA challenge page
  • Enter your 6-digit authenticator code (or a recovery code) to complete login
  • The desktop app bridge also supports this flow — the app waits while you complete the 2FA challenge in the browser

{danger} If your account has 2FA enabled and you lose access to your authenticator app, use a recovery code to sign in. Recovery codes are generated when you first enable 2FA in Settings → Security.

For sensitive actions (e.g., token transfers) when you have 2FA but no local password:

  • You will be prompted for your authenticator code to confirm the action
  • This is a step-up confirmation, valid for 3 hours per session

Troubleshooting

"Google did not return an email address"

Your Google account privacy settings may be blocking email sharing. Ensure you select Allow on the Google consent screen and that your Google account has a verified email.

Desktop app shows "Login expired" or never detects login

  • The bridge link expires after 10 minutes — click Sign in with Google in the desktop app again to generate a new link
  • Ensure your browser and desktop app can reach traffic4seo.com
  • If your browser is blocking popups or redirects, allow them for traffic4seo.com

"Account is disabled or suspended"

Your account has been suspended. Contact support for assistance.

Can I unlink Google from my account?

Currently, unlinking social providers is not available from the self-service settings. Contact support if needed.
